Of a Feather

Avian works of the GAMA collection

August 19-December 13, 2026

Main Gallery North

Birds are a ubiquitous symbol and motif used universally throughout our world. To some cultures they represent freedom and dreams, to others they are recognized as symbols of spring and new life. Of a Feather features selected avian works from the permanent collection. Bring a curious mind and come explore the cultural and visual significance birds play from the ceremonial masks of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the folk art of the Americas.
