Behind the Frame Series & Docent Program

Get to know your CSU art museum and train as a docent!

Starting Fall Semester 2022, Gregory Allicar Museum of Art is bringing a new series to the CSU and Fort Collins community! Behind the Frame is a learning opportunity and docent training program open to community members of all ages.

Participants will gain deeper knowledge of museum exhibition and programs, meet artists and curators, receive a first look at upcoming exhibitions, and develop the skills needed to become a museum docent. Docents contribute to the museum community by leading tours for visitors of all ages while promoting a comfortable and inclusive environment.

Behind the Frame instructors include Director and Chief Curator Lynn Boland; Associate Professors of Art History David Riep, Catherine DiCesare, and Emily Moore; Professor of Art History Eleanor Moseman; and artists Ron Kroutel and Kei Ito, among others.

PLEASE NOTE: There are a limited number of spaces available for the program series, so priority is given to individuals who are interested in becoming museum docents. However, each session will be recorded, and a link will be made available for those who cannot attend.

Behind the Frame sessions are scheduled for 9 to 11 a.m. on the following dates:

November 8, 2022
November 15, 2022
November 29, 2022
December 6, 2022
December 13, 2022

Every other Monday in 2023, beginning January 23, 2023
