Biography

Jeffrey M. Cornwall is an art educator and researcher with a focus on childhood studies, children's art and elementary art education and serves as the Associate Director of the Center for the Study of Childhood Art. Jeff began his journey in art education and initiated his interest in childhood studies as the art teacher at Edgemont Elementary School in the state of Utah. He studied at The Pennsylvania State University and Brigham Young University. His research specifically engages with the affective and mundane ways children learn, think, make and do that leak from the dominant discourse of child development. He has publications in the journals "Visual Arts Research," "Qualitative Inquiry," and "Studies in Art Education." His work can also be found in two international anthologies about children and art.
