About CIIPE
The Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition (CIIPE) was co-founded in 1979 by Colorado State University (CSU) Department of Art and Art History faculty and designers Phil Risbeck and John Sorbie alongside Northern Colorado artist Bob Coonts. This international invitational serves as a unique educational resource that allows graphic design and art majors to work directly with designers and study the work closely. CIIPE is one of only a few international invitational poster exhibitions in the world.
The complete exhibition occupies three major spaces on CSU’s Fort Collins’ campus. The main exhibition is hung in the Lory Student Center’s Curfman Gallery and the Hatton Gallery, located in the Visual Arts Building. The CIIPE Honor Laureate exhibition is held at the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art.
The 23rd CIIPE Honor Laureate exhibition and all related programming is presented in collaboration with the Department of Art and Art History.
Support for this exhibition at the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art has been generously provided by the City of Fort Collins Fort Fund, the FUNd Endowment at CSU, and Colorado Creative Industries. CCI and its activities are made possible through an annual appropriation from the Colorado General Assembly and federal funds from the National Endowment for the Arts.
This exhibition is also made possible in part through a grant from the Lilla B. Morgan Memorial Endowment. This fund works to enhance the cultural development and atmosphere for the arts at Colorado State University and benefits from the generous support of all those who love the arts.
