A Celebration of Objects Held in the Palm of our Hands

October 21, 2026-March 12, 2027

Main Gallery

Organized into four themes, household, personal, leisure, and labor, this exhibition includes over seventy-five items from different periods, places, and cultures. During the museum’s recent 2026 summer inventory of nearly 6,000 items, we identified subcollections within our rich holding of small utilitarian items that demonstrate the breadth of the entire collection. We hope you will reflect on your daily life and appreciate the routine and mundane objects around us, whether at home, work, in our pockets, or held in our hands.

Curated by Gavin Devereaux and Asiye Uctuk
