Hosted by the Africa Center and the Department of Art and Art History

The Gregory Allicar Museum of Art is excited to host the eighth annual Africa & Ale event in collaboration with the Africa Center and the Department of Art and Art History!

Registration is required! (21+ only).

Join us for this network and community building event to discuss issues of sustainability in Africa while tasting African-style beers created by local breweries. This collaborative event is an “end-of-year” celebration that honors the cultures of Africa. There will be student artworks, music, food, and local brews by Zwei Brewing, Purpose Brewing & Cellars, and Maxline Brewing, and samples of SUNRAm, a brown ale produced in by CSU Fermentation Sciences faculty with CSU’s Black and African American Cultural Center (B/AACC) and Ramskeller.

A $10 cash donation is suggested to help support the Africa Center, which invests in innovative and interdisciplinary research and engagement that cuts across conventional disciplines to address global environmental and sustainability issues in Africa.

The Africa Center, housed in the School of Global Environmental Sustainability, aims to celebrate the accomplishments and ongoing work of those that have research and studies in Africa at Colorado State University.

GAMA’s galleries will be open during the event, and visitors are welcome to visit the artworks on view in GAMA’s African Collection gallery. The museum’s African collection was formed through the generous donations of faculty, friends, and alumni, and maintains historical and contemporary works created by artists from across the continent.
