Linocut Printmaking Workshop with Johnny Plastini
Robert W. Hoffert Learning Center: Saturday, November 4, 1-4 p.m.
Master printmaker and Associate Professor Johnny Plastini leads a special workshop on linoleum carving and printing! Held in conjunction with the current exhibition Demonstrating Democracy, this workshop will feature an historical presentation by museum director Lynn Boland on Mexican linoleum and woodblock prints followed by hands-on printmaking practice. Participants will each carve a 6 x 9 in. linoleum block and produce three prints to take home (after heat setting).
Appropriate for beginners and those with foundational printmaking skills.
This workshop requires a $10 materials fee, which will go towards ink, linoleum blocks, and paper. Please visit our online store to pay the $10. Paying this materials fee automatically registers you for workshop.

About the printmaker
Johnny Plastini has been an active studio artist within the Fort Collins community since 2014. He is currently the area coordinator of printmaking and an associate professor of art in the Department of Art and Art History at Colorado State University. He received a BA in interdisciplinary studio art from the University of California, Santa Cruz [2008] and his MFA in printmaking from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania [2012]. He has completed group artist residencies at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Deer Isle, Maine [2012], the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont [2019], and MUDHOUSE in Crete, Greece [2021]. He has also been invited as a solo visiting artist-in-residence at Temple University, Rome both in [2017] and [2021].
Ongoing support for the museum’s exhibitions and programming is generously provided by the City of Fort Collins Fort Fund, the FUNd Endowment at CSU, and Colorado Creative Industries. CCI and its activities are made possible through an annual appropriation from the Colorado General Assembly and federal funds from the National Endowment for the arts.
