The artist William Wylie will be giving an artist talk tonight prior to a reception for his exhibition opening in the Gregory Allicar Museum of Art. The talk will be held at 5pm in the Griffin Foundation Gallery at the Gregory Allicar, with the reception following from 6:30-7:30. Wylie’s exhibition — Pompeii Archive — features eighteen large-scale photographs of the ongoing restoration of the remains found at Pompeii after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 C.E. Wylie received his MFA from the University of Michigan and his BFA from Colorado State University. His work can now be found in the permanent collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art, Smithsonian Art Museum, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Virginia Museum of Fine Art, and the Yale University Art Museum, among others.
