For No Good Reason is a 2012 British-American documentary directed by Charlie Paul that offers an intimate portrait of the legendary artist Ralph Steadman. Guided by Johnny Depp, the documentary explores Steadman’s remarkable life and career through interviews with friends, collaborators, and fellow artists, alongside richly animated sequences that bring his unmistakable visual language to life. Filmed over the course of fifteen years, For No Good Reason is a visually inventive and deeply personal exploration of the relationship between art and life, revealing the curiosity, humor, honesty, and relentless creative spirit that have shaped Steadman’s career.
