One of the masterpieces of the museum’s collection is being restored and preserved and you can watch! Paintings conservator Cynthia Lawrence will be on site in the museum’s Robert W. Hoffert Learning center for four days in September: Wed. 9/16, Thurs. 9/17, Wed. 9/22, and Thurs. 9/23. CSU classes will observe parts of the process and hear from the conservator. All are welcome to watch by live webcam on our Facebook page.

This project is made possible, in part, by generous support from the Greenwood Fund, administered by the Denver Foundation. The Greenwood Fund supports the conservation of museum artifacts and collections care projects within the museum community of Colorado and Wyoming.

Addition support for this project is provided by sales of magnets featuring Stowitt’s painting in details. Please consider helping support the preservation of this important work by purchasing a magnet in person or in our online shop, or by making a gift in support of conservation at the museum. Please contact the museum's director, Lynn Boland, for more information.
